[Student Researchers]

Research courses are inquiry-based courses designed to give students a taste of research. Typically, the laboratory portion of the course consists largely or entirely of a semi-independent research project designed and carried out by students, often working in teams. Evaluation of the project might be based on a written report in scientific manuscript format and/or a presentation. Projects from research courses can be presented in seminar to fulfill the research requirement for graduation.

Biology majors can currently choose from four research courses:

Biochemistry majors can fulfill the research requirement by taking the required course BCM 465 (Advanced Topics in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Microbiology).
